Defense in Depth Is Concentric Topology

The nine-triangle concentric mark at the center of the ApexLayer field is nine triangles in concentric arrangement around a single point. Remove one and the figure is not slightly weaker — it is a different figure. Defense in depth, done honestly, has the same property: layers designed as one topology, not accumulated as purchases.

What each ring is actually for

Bolt-on accretion is structural decay

The failure mode is accretion: a tool per incident, a vendor per fear, each ring drawn by a different hand around a center nobody defined. The result looks layered and behaves brittle — overlapping alerts nobody owns, gaps nobody sees, and a noise floor that buries the one signal that mattered. Depth without coherence is just expensive sediment.

Design from the center

Start from what must survive — the data, the service, the trust of the people who rely on you — and draw each ring as a derivation of that center, the way every constant in this field derives from 432. Each layer should answer: what does it stop, what does it hand to the next ring, and how does it fail loudly? A ring that fails silently is a signal integrity breach waiting to be discovered by someone else.

Nine triangles, one center, nothing ornamental. We synchronize.
